In 2006, Avante PE installed a VE-075 wind turbine, a 1.5/3 kW-WG/FM UPS inverter, and ISTA lead-acid batteries at a gas filling station in the village of Khotyanivka, Kyiv region. This project became one of the first in Ukraine where wind energy was used to provide power to a commercial facility.

Technical specifications

  • VE-075 wind turbine:
    • Rotor diameter: 7.5 m
    • Rated power: 750 W
    • Maximum wind speed: 25 m/s
  • 1.5/3 kW-WG/FM UPS inverter:
    • Rated power: 1.5 kW
    • Maximum power: 3 kW
  • ISTA storage batteries:
    • Type: AGM
    • Capacity: 200 Ah

Equipment description

The VE-075 wind turbine is an autonomous installation that uses wind energy to generate electricity. It consists of:

  • Wind turbine with three blades that rotate under the influence of the wind.
  • Generator, which converts the mechanical energy of the wind turbine rotation into electrical energy.
  • Controller, which regulates the operation of the wind turbine and protects it from damage.

The 1.5/3 kW-WG/FM UPS inverter converts the direct current produced by the wind turbine into alternating current used in the household network.

ISTA storage batteries are used to store the energy produced by the wind turbine. This allows for an uninterrupted power supply to the gas filling station even in the absence of wind.

The VE-075 wind turbine is a reliable and efficient energy source that can be used to provide energy for both residential and commercial facilities. This project is an example of how wind energy can be successfully used in Ukraine.
